Zum Aktivitätsniveau empirischer Forschung in der Wirtschaftsinformatik – Erklärungsansatz und Handlungsoptionen

- Die empirische Forschung führt in der Wirtschaftsinformatik ein Nischendasein. Der vorliegende Beitrag entwickelt unter partieller Bezugnahme auf Wossidlos Thesen und Einwendungen zur empirischen Theorie der Unternehmung einen weitergehenden, zusammenhängenden Erklärungsansatz und versucht Möglichkeiten aufzuzeigen, das niedrige Aktivitätsniveau empirischer Forschung zu überwinden. Es wird argumentiert, dass die Etablierung eines empirischen Paradigmas eine sinnvolle Ergänzung des in der Wirtschaftsinformatik vorherrschenden konstruktiven Pardigmas darstellt.

Vertrauensbildende Maßnahmen in Grid-Ökonomien

- Mit zunehmender Verbreitung von Grid-Infrastrukturen in Unternehmen gewinnt die Frage nach Vertrauen immer mehr an Bedeutung. In einer offenen, heterogenen, sich ständig verändernden Umgebung, wie z.B. der Grid-Ökonomie ist hundertprozentige Sicherheit nicht zu gewährleisten; aus diesem Grund ist Vertrauen in den Handelspartner notwendig. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, bereits bestehende vertrauensbildende Maßnahmen aus dem Bereich der Informationsökonomie bezüglich ihrer Übertragbarkeit auf GridÖkonomien kritisch zu analysieren. Dabei sollen ausgewählte Instrumente zur Überwindung von Unsicherheit durch Informationsbereitstellung vorgestellt und diese jeweils anschließend auf ihre Anwendbarkeit in Grid-Ökonomien untersucht werden.

Theoretical and Computational Basis for Economical Ressource Allocation in Application Layer Networks -Annual Report Year 1

- This paper identifies and defines suitable market mechanisms for Application Layer Networks (ALNs). On basis of the structured Market Engineering process, the work comprises the identification of requirements which adequate market mechanisms for ALNs have to fulfill. Subsequently, two mechanisms for each, the centralized and the decentralized case are described in this document.5

Theoretical and Computational Basis for CATNETS - Annual Report Year 2

- In this work the self-organising potential of the CATNETS allocation mechanism is described to provide a more comprehensive view on the research done in this project. The formal description of either the centralised and decentralised approach is presented. Furthermore the agents’ bidding model is described and a comprehensive overview on how the catallactic mechanism is incorporated into the middleware and simulator environments is given.

- In this document the developments in defining the computational and theoretical framework for economical resource allocation are described. Accordingly the formal specification of the market mechanisms, bidding strategies of the involved agents and the integration of the market mechanisms into the simulator were refined.

The service-productivity learning cockpit – a business intelligence tool for service enterprises

- The paper describes the development of an agent-based simulation tool for hospital managers to manage their productivity of services, especially in the context of supporting services like patient transport logistics. The learning cockpit allows hospital managers to see how the change of inputs changes the overall perceived customer values of all stakeholders and therefore to get a visualization of the impacts their decisions cause. The paper introduces the general research domain service-productivity, followed by a description of the development steps of artefact creation. The learning cockpit is part of a research project called BELOUGA, which is funded by the German government.

The BabelNEG System - A Protocol-generic Infrastructure for Electronic SLA Negotiations in the Internet of Services

- Visions of the next-generation Internet of Services are driven by digital resources traded on a global scope. For the resulting economic setting, automated on-line techniques for handling services and resources themselves, for advertising and discovering as well as for the on-the-fly negotiation of proper terms for their use are needed. Hence, a flexible infrastructure for the respective management of services and associated service level agreements is mandatory. This thesis presents the results of my dissertation project. They comprise a service infrastructure, able to support the structured discovery and protocol-generic negotiation of electronic service level agreements (SLAs) and thus services themselves.

Teleteaching in der Wirtschaftsinformatik - Erfahrungen aus einem Teleseminar der Universitäten Erlangen-Nürnberg, Regensburg und Bayreuth

- Ziel des Beitrags ist es, das Konzept und die Erfahrungen eines Teleseminars systematisch darzustellen und Anhaltspunkte für vergleichbare Vorhaben in der Zukunft zu geben. Angestrebt wird damit ein Beitrag zur Auseinandersetzung mit neuen Unterrichtsformen in der Wirtschaftsinformatik sowie die Dokumentation von experimentellen Unterrichtserfahrungen im Seminarbereich, zu denen bis heute nur wenige systematische Analysen vorliegen.

- Bereits seit Anfang der 1990er Jahre wird jungen Wissenschaftlern im Vorfeld der Tagung "Wirtschaftsinformatik" ein Doctoral Consortium als unterstützendes Forum angeboten. Diese Einrichtung wurde auch zur größten internationalen Konferenz der Wirtschaftsinformatik, der WI 2009 in Wien fortgeführt. Dieser Band fasst die zum Vortrag ausgewählten Beiträge zusammen.
